RCB unbox six hitting contest

Watch: RCB players flexed their muscles in a six-hitting contest during the Unbox 2025 event at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Monday (March 17).

RCB held their Unbox Event, a regular feature ahead of every IPL season, on Monday (March 17) at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Along with performances from several artists, a six-hitting contest was held among the RCB players.

West Indies all-rounder Romario Shepherd, who was picked by Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the IPL 2025 auction for INR 1.5 crores, stole the show with his big-hitting. The players were getting throwdowns and attempting to hit the ball as far as they could. Liam Livingstone, Jacob Bethell, Tim David, Jitesh Sharma - all four potential starters in the middle order for RCB - tried their hand but couldn't match Shepherd's efforts where he sent the ball flying out of the Chinnaswamy stadium.

Domestic Indian players like Swastik Chikara and Manoj Bhandage also participated, but Virat Kohli didn't. The star India batter did do the catching challenge though where balls were being shot into the air by a machine and the players had to run back and take those catches.

RCB qualified for the playoffs of IPL 2024 after a dramatic run of six victories in their last six league games but lost in the Eliminator. They would hope to do better under the leadership of Rajat Patidar in IPL 2025.
