Watch: Glenn Maxwell was dismissed lbw first ball during today's GT vs PBKS IPL 2025 match in Ahmedabad.
Returning to the Punjab franchise for the first time since IPL 2020, Maxwell came in to bat at No.5 after a strong start saw PBKS reach 105-3 in 10.3 overs. His comeback wasn't memorable though as he was out for a golden duck off the bowling of left-arm spinner Sai Kishore.

Kishore bowled a length ball from round the wicket on off stump which Maxwell attempted to switch hit. He missed the line and length completely, making a meal of the shot. The ball struck him on his hip and the umpire didn't take much time to raise his finger.
It looked straight enough in real time for Maxwell to not review the call. However, replays showed that the ball would have bounced over the stumps and Maxwell would have survived had he reviewed.
This marks his second consecutive golden duck in the IPL, having also been dismissed first ball in his last IPL 2024 match for RCB. In fact, he now has five ducks in his last 10 IPL innings.
