Aniket Verma, Sunrisers Hyderabad's new 23-year-old recruit, played a blazing cameo in today's IPL 2025 match against Lucknow Super Giants.
Verma made his IPL debut in the last match against Rajasthan Royals where he made seven off three batting at No.6. Today (March 27), he played his first memorable IPL knock, scoring 36 off just 13 balls against LSG.

Verma was picked up by SRH at the IPL 2025 auction for INR 30 lakhs. Hailing from Uttar Pradesh, Verma had not played senior domestic cricket when he was bought in the auction. Before making his IPL debut, Verma had played just one T20 where he was bowled for a golden duck.

The right-hander shot into limelight after his performance in the men’s Under-23 one day tournament where he scored 184 runs at a strike rate of 152.06. In the 2024 edition of the Madhya Pradesh Premier League, Verma scored 244 runs at a strike rate of 205, including an astonishing knock of 123 off just 41 balls against the Malwa Panthers.
He also impressed for SRH in the pre-season intra-squad warm-up games, forcing his way into the playing XI.
SRH finished their innings at 190-9, with Verma's 36 being the second highest score after Travis Head's 47 off 28.
