IPL 2025, SRH vs RR, CSK vs MI: Team news
The defeated finalists of last year, the Sunrisers have their full team at their disposal in a rematch of the 2024 Qualifier 2. With no injury concern, they have a formidable first XI at their disposal. For the sake of nitpicking, one may point out the lack of experience in the lower middle order.
The Royals look weaker. Barring Hasaranga, they do not have a bona-fide all-rounder. Their young, experienced Indian core has power hitters, but bowling may pose a problem. The injured Samson will almost certainly not field, but he may bat thanks to the Impact Player.
Devon Conway is back, but the Super Kings are likely to go in with Ravindra at the top. At Chepauk, his left-arm spin may tilt the balance in his favour. CSK bat deep, have the all-rounders, and three world-class spinners at their disposal at a venue known to assist them.
Over the years, no team has dented CSK’s Chepauk fortress like MI, who hold a 6-3 record here. However, the absence of Jasprit Bumrah (injured) and captain Hardik Pandya (suspended for a game) will definitely hurt their cause. Still, in Mujeeb they have a counter to Noor, the wily Santner knows Chepauk inside out, and Karn brings experience to the table.
IPL 2025, SRH vs RR, CSK vs MI: Match prediction
The Head-Abhishek opening pair, followed by Kishan and Klaasen, makes an explosive top order for Hyderabad, who will be favourites in the first match.
The absence of the two MI superstars make CSK the likelier side to win at Chepauk.
