SRH ended as runners-up in 2024 after being defeated in the final by Kolkata Knight Riders, who won their third title. The most striking aspect of SRH’s last season was their explosive batting. Aiming for their second championship, they will look to maintain a similar tempo, and they certainly have the firepower to do so.
SRH Squad 2025: Who’s out?
SRH's retention list includes Heinrich Klaasen (INR 23 crore), captain Pat Cummins (INR 18 crore), Abhishek Sharma (INR 14 crore), Travis Head (INR 14 crore) and Nitish Kumar Reddy (INR 6 crore). They let go of several of their high-profile players including the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Marco Jansen, Glenn Phillips and Aiden Markram, among others.

SRH Squad 2025: Who’s in?
Bhuvneshwar's departure meant they needed a reliable domestic pace spearhead. That prompted them to buy Mohammed Shami for INR 10 crore. Ishan Kishan also changed his allegiance from Mumbai Indians for a whopping INR 11.25 crore. In Harshal Patel, who was acquired for INR 9 crore, the franchise has another potent death-bowling option.
Overall, they have spent INR 44.80 crore in the mega-auction to rope in a total of 20 new players.
