Sunrisers Hyderabad hit a record low with their 80-run loss against Kolkata Knight Riders on Thursday (April 3).
Coming off back-to-back losses, SRH were in desperate need of two points as they visited Eden Gardens. The toss of the coin went captain Pat Cummins' way, and he chose to field first with opposite number Ajinkya Rahane saying KKR would have done the same.
SRH got rid of Quinton de Kock and Sunil Narine early, but that was as good as it got for them. After Rahane (38) and Angkrish Raghuvanshi (50) stabilised, Venkatesh Iyer (60) and Rinku Singh (32*) slammed 78 off the last five overs to lift KKR to 200-6.
In reply, SRH lost Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan in the first three overs, slipping to 9-3. Nitish Kumar Reddy scored 19 and Kamindu Mendis 27, but the innings never really got on track as they were eventually skittled for 120, Heinrich Klaasen the top scorer with 33.

What's the largest defeat in IPL history?
It consigned SRH to the biggest defeat (by runs) in the history of the franchise, overtaking their 78-run loss to Chennai Super Kings last year. The previous team to suffer a record loss was Lucknow Super Giants, when they lost by 98 runs to KKR in May last year.
The overall record for largest defeat by runs remains with Delhi Capitals (then Daredevils), who succumbed to a 146-run thrashing at the hands of Royal Challengers Bengaluru in May 2017.
