The list of players set to go under the hammer in the 2025 IPL mega auction has been unveiled – here are all the England players on the list.
A total of 37 England players have been shortlisted for the auction. Among them, James Anderson, 42, is the most notable inclusion. Anderson, England's leading wicket-taker, recently called time on his international career.
Exactly 15 years after playing his last T20I, James Anderson has been included in the final shortlist of players for the IPL auction.

His last T20 in any tournament was ten years ago.
Will he get a bid by any of the ten teams? 🤔

On the other hand, the most eye-catching omission is Jofra Archer’s. His name was initially featured among the 1,574 players on the first list, which was trimmed to 574 after consultation with 10 IPL sides. Over the years, the pacer’s career has been ravaged by injuries but recently he has expressed his desire to return to Test cricket. However, whether Archer pulled out or franchises showed no interest in him is unclear.
Apart from Archer, Joe Root, Mark Wood and Chris Woakes are a few renowned names missing from the auction. The new rules state that any player who previously played in the tournament but is not a part of the 2025 auction will not be eligible to participate in the 2026 edition. That means Ben Stokes, who opted out of this year due to fitness and workload management, will not be eligible for the next season.
