The player list for the IPL 2025 auction was finalised on Friday (November 15). Here are all the Australian players to make the shortlist.
The auction registration list of 1,574 players has been trimmed to 574 players, which includes 208 overseas players. There are 70 available slots for the overseas players to fill, across the 10 teams.
As far as Australian players are concerned, 76 of them registered for the auction, with 37 making it to the final shortlist. A few notable names that did not are Ben Cutting, Moises Henriques, Matthew Kuhnemann, Chris Lynn, Nathan Lyon, Todd Murphy and new Test opener Nathan McSweeney.
Eleven of the players on the shortlist – Ashton Agar, Xavier Bartlett, Hilton Cartwright, Cooper Connolly, Aaron Hardie, Josh Inglis, Ben McDermott, Lance Morris, Tanveer Sangha, Josh Brown and Will Sutherland – have not played in the IPL before. Two players, Michael Neser and Josh Brown, were not on the long list, but were added to the shortlist after consultation with the franchises.
