The ten franchises came into the auction with 204 slots to fill, of which a maximum of 132 remained when things went underway on day two. They were allowed to retain up to six players each, with a maximum of five capped and two uncapped players. Here is where and how you can watch the auction live.
On day one, Shreyas Iyer became the most expensive player in IPL history. The Punjab Kings acquired him for INR 27.75 crore. However, only 20 minutes later, Rishabh Pant (INR 28 crore) went past him when the Lucknow Super Giants got him.
