IPL 2025, the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League, will be played between March 22 and May 25. The tournament will open with a match between defending champions and three-time winners Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
The Eden Gardens will also host the Qualifier 2 and the final, while Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator will be played at Uppal, the home venue of Hyderabad, last year’s defeated finalists.
Apart from the two teams mentioned above, the league will also feature Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, Punjab Kings, Delhi Capitals, Lucknow Super Giants, and Gujarat Titans.
With five wins each, Chennai and Mumbai are the most successful IPL franchises, followed by Kolkata (three). The other four editions were won by Rajasthan, the now-defunct Deccan Chargers, Hyderabad, and Gujarat.
