Kolkata Knight Riders beat Delhi Capitals by 14 runs during their IPL 2025 away match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Tuesday (April 29). Here's what the IPL points table looks like after the result.
Batting first, KKR recorded their best opening stand of the season as Rahmanullah Gurbaz (26 off 12) and Sunil Narine (27 off 16) attacked the DC bowlers, scoring 48 in three overs. Contributions from Angkrish Raghuvanshi (44 off 32) and Rinku Singh (36 off 25) then propelled them past 200. DC’s bowlers – especially Mitchell Starc (3-43) and captain Axar Patel (2-27) – dragged KKR back after the fiery start, but 204-9 remained a competitive total.
Chasing 205, DC stumbled early, losing Abishek Porel (4 off 2) and Karun Nair (15 off 15) in the powerplay. Faf du Plessis anchored one end, but hopes dwindled when KL Rahul (7) was run out by Sunil Narine’s sharp throw from short third. At 60-3, Axar Patel (43 off 23) joined du Plessis (62 off 45) in a 74-run stand to revive DC’s chase.
The game turned with Narine’s decisive spell, who removed both set batters. Varun Chakravarthy (two wickets), despite an off day, struck late to reduce DC to 160-8. Vipraj Nigam’s fiery 38 off 19 revived hopes, but DC fell short at 190-9.
