After putting KKR in to bat, RCB struck early through Josh Hazlewood, who removed Quinton de Kock in the very first over. Skipper Ajinkya Rahane then put on 103 with Sunil Narine before the latter fell for 44. Thereafter, KKR collapsed, sliding to 174-8 as only Angkrish Raghuvanshi (30) made a significant contribution. Krunal Pandya was the star with 3-29.
In reply, RCB raced to 80-0 in the Powerplay, effectively ending the game. Ex-KKR opener Phil Salt (56) and Virat Kohli (59*), playing his 400th T20, both struck half-centuries as the visitors completed the chase in just 16.2 overs. Captain Rajat Patidar also chipped in with a brisk 34 off 16 balls to hasten the victory.

The win has taken RCB to the top of the table, while KKR now occupy bottom spot. Tomorrow (March 23) will see the first double-header of IPL 2025, as Sunrisers Hyderabad host Rajasthan Royals in the afternoon game, before one of the league's marquee fixtures, Chennai Super Kings vs Mumbai Indians, gets underway at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
