Nicholas Pooran fell cheaply to Mitchell Starc for just nine. In a surprising move, LSG promoted Abdul Samad, David Miller and Ayush Badoni ahead of captain Rishabh Pant, who eventually faced just two balls at No.7 and was dismissed for a duck. DC's Mukesh Kumar (4-33) restricted the hosts to 159-6.

The tourists chased down the target in 17.5 overs with eight wickets to spare, powered by Abhishek Porel’s first fifty (51 off 36) of the season and an unbeaten 56-run partnership between KL Rahul (57* off 42) and skipper Axar Patel (34* off 20). Mukesh Kumar was named Player of the Match for his match-defining spell.

The win strengthened DC's hold on the second place in the standings. With six victories from eight matches, they now match table-toppers Gujarat Titans in win count but trail by 0.447 in net run rate.
LSG, meanwhile, remained at fifth despite the loss. That is because they have won five, one more than the sixth-placed Mumbai Indians.
