Playing at RR’s adopted homeground at the Barsapara stadium in Guwahati, KKR entered without their marquee all-rounder Sunil Narine. Instead, Moeen Ali played in his place, making an immediate impact with the ball. Moeen (2-23) and Varun Chakravarthy (2-17) stifled RR’s innings, conceding just 40 runs across their combined eight overs. Vaibhav Arora (2-33), Harshit Rana (2-36), and Spencer Johnson (1-42) further tightened the screws, restricting the hosts to 151-9.
