Kolkata Knight Riders thrashed Sunrisers Hyderabad by 80 runs in match 15 of IPL 2025 on Thursday (April 3) - here is the updated points table after today's IPL match.
SRH skipper Pat Cummins won the toss and chose to put the hosts in to bat. Openers Quinton de Kock and Sunil Narine were back in the hut inside three overs, but Ajinkya Rahane and Angkrish Raghuvanshi then stabilised the innings with an 81-run stand. The innings meandered briefly, before Venkatesh Iyer and Rinku Singh teed off to score a massive 78 runs in the last five overs, and take KKR to 200-6.
The total eventually proved plenty as SRH lost their entire top three with just nine runs on the board. Nitish Kumar Reddy, debutant Kamindu Mendis and Aniket Verma all came and went as they quickly slipped to 75-6.
The last glimmer of hope, Heinrich Klaasen, was dismissed for 33 with another 89 still required. It was only a matter of time before they were bowled out for 120, suffering an 80-run loss – their worst in franchise history. For KKR, Vaibhav Arora and Varun Chakaravarthy took three wickets apiece.
