Gujarat Titans dominated Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens in Monday’s (April 21) IPL 2025 clash. Here's what the points table looks like after the KKR vs GT match.
GT’s target of 199 was built on a century-opening stand between Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill. While Sudharsan scored a 36-ball 52, his fifth fifty in eight innings this year, Gill top-scored with 90 off 55, smashing 10 fours and three sixes.
KKR, fresh from their record loss to Punjab Kings, faltered in the chase. Rahmanullah Gurbaz, playing his first match this year, replacing Quinton de Kock, fell to Mohammed Siraj for one in the opening over. Captain Ajinkya Rahane’s 50 off 36 was the lone bright spot, though a 34-ball boundary drought with Venkatesh Iyer (14 off 19) stalled the momentum. Both fell in consecutive overs, sealing KKR’s struggle.
KKR fell 39 runs short, finishing at 159-8 as the required rate spiralled. Spinners Rashid Khan (2-25) and Sai Kishore (1-19 in 3 overs) stifled the chase, while Washington Sundar took the key wicket of Rahane.
