Chennai Super Kings defeated Lucknow Super Giants by five wickets in Lucknow - here is the updated IPL 2025 points table after today's LSG vs CSK match.
Coming into this game on the back of five straight losses, CSK took some hard calls, dropping R Ashwin and Devon Conway and replacing them with Jamie Overton and Shaik Rasheed. Fielding first, they started well, getting rid of the dangerous Aiden Markram and Nicholas Pooran inside the fourth over. Rishabh Pant made a T20 fifty (63 off 49) after 20 innings and took LSG to a competitive 166-7. Ravindra Jadeja was the pick of CSK's bowlers, taking 2-24 in his three overs.
CSK responded well with the bat, debutant Rasheed scoring a quickfire 27 off 19 at the top. Rachin Ravindra made 37 off 22 as well, but CSK faltered after his wicket on the last ball of the eighth over. They slipped from 74-1 to 111-5 in the space of seven overs. MS Dhoni (26 not out off 11) then provided much-needed impetus to the innings, completing the chase along with a struggling Shivam Dube (43 off 37) with three balls left.
