IPL 2025 is set to get underway from March 22 – here's the latest on player arrivals, injury and training updates, and more ahead of the new season.

The 2025 IPL season marks the start of the latest three-year cycle, with the mega auction having taken place in November 2024. There have been some significant player movements in the off-season – including the skipper of defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders, Shreyas Iyer, moving on to lead Punjab Kings.

KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant are a couple of other big names to have moved. The pair have swapped teams, going to Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants respectively. Pant is also now the most expensive player in IPL auction history.

In the week leading up to the start of the tournament, the players have begun to arrive at training, and practice matches of the franchises are also being streamed on their channels. There have also been significant developments with regards to injuries, with a few replacement players already being named – Corbin Bosch and Chetan Sakariya a couple.
