Gujarat Titans will start their IPL 2025 campaign against Punjab Kings on March 25. Here's the predicted playing XI for GT including impact player options.
GT's squad for IPL 2025
Apart from Rajasthan Royals in 2008, Gujarat Titans are the only team to win the IPL in their debut season, in 2022. They reached the final again in 2023, where the lost off the last ball. Then, ahead of the 2024 edition, they lost Hardik Pandya, their captain and key all-rounder. With little time to re-strategise, they struggled and finished eighth.
At the 2025 mega-auction, however, they revamped their squad. Rashid Khan and new captain Shubman Gill are still there, but not David Miller, Wriddhiman Saha, or Mohammed Shami, who had been instrumental to GT’s early success. Instead, they have got the likes of Jos Buttler, Kagiso Rabada, Mohammed Siraj, Glenn Phillips, Sherfane Rutherford, Washington Sundar, and Prasidh Krishna.

GT predicted XI for IPL 2025
If Gill opens with Buttler, Sai Sudharsan (another retention) may bat at three. Shahrukh Khan and Rahul Tewatia may fill up two of the three middle-order slots, along with Phillips. Washington and Rashid will leave room for Rabada and two Indian bowlers.
The likely candidates for these two spots are the fast bowlers Siraj and Prasidh, and the spinners Sai Kishore and Jayant Yadav. Ishant Sharma and Manav Suthar are the probable backups in the respective departments. If Rabada misses a game, Coetzee can fill in. Kumar Kushagra and Anuj Rawat (and even Phillips) are the reserve keepers.

Alternately, GT can pick Lomror for Phillips and get both Rabada and Coetzee, or simply go in with eight Indians and pick an impact player from their overseas contingent.
