Ahead of the auction, 37 players from England were registered on the auction list. By the end of it, as many as 11 were picked up.
The player who achieved the highest bid was England white-ball captain, Jos Buttler. The wicketkeeper-batter was released by his long-term franchise side Rajasthan Royals ahead of the auction, and was snapped up by Gujarat Titans following an intense bidding war with the Royals, as well as Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants.
There was also an eye-popping amount of cash spent by Rajasthan Royals in acquiring Jofra Archer. The fast-bowler was initially not on the auction sheet but was given late permission by the ECB to enter the auction. If Archer hadn't entered this auction, he would be ineligible to enter another IPL auction for three years. Archer represented the Royals from 2018 to 2021, but also had a stint with Mumbai Indians in 2023.
Phil Salt was also picked up for 11.50 crore by RCB. Salt had a successful run as an opener for KKR in the 2024 edition of the tournament, scoring 435 runs at an average of 39.55 and a strike rate of 182.00.
Among other England players picked up, Harry Brook was sold to Delhi Capitals for 6.25 crore, and Jacob Bethell received his first IPL contract from Royal Challengers Bengaluru for 2.60 crore, with Punjab Kings also putting in a bid for the all-rounder.
