The longlist of players registered for the IPL 2025 auction was made available to the franchises on Tuesday (November 5). Here's the split of players from each country.

The teams confirmed their lists of retained players last week (October 31). A total of 46 players have been retained by the franchises, with Punjab Kings retaining the fewest (two) and Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders the joint-most (six each).

The auction ahead of the 2025 season will take place on November 24 & 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The deadline for players to register for the auction was on November 4, and the longlist was locked by November 5.

The list has a total of 1,574 players at this point in time. The specifics of the list have not yet been released, but have been made available to the franchises. This list will be cut down by the IPL after discussions with the franchises, and the shortlist will be released ahead of the auction.

Each franchise is allowed to have a maximum of 25 players in their squad, meaning a total of 204 slots are available to be filled in the auction.

IPL 2025 auction: How many players have registered from each country?

As always, the highest number of players in the auction are from India, with 1,165 having registered this year – making up 74 per cent of the auction pool.

Among the other countries, South Africa has the highest number of registrations, with 91. This is not hugely surprising, given that every team in the SA20 league has shared ownership with an IPL franchise.

Among Associate nations, Netherlands has the most registrations, with 12. The USA has 10, with Canada and Scotland having four and two respectively. There is also one player each from Italy and UAE. The Italian player is Thomas Draca, who represented Brampton Wolves in the GT20 Canada, and has been picked by MI Emirates, a sister franchise of Mumbai Indians, for the upcoming season of the ILT20.
