A total of 84 players were auctioned on day one yesterday at the Abady Al-Johar Arena in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The 10 franchises splashed out INR 467.95 crore for 72 players.
IPL 2025: Updated list of players sold in the auction on day 1
Punjab Kings, who entered the auction with the biggest purse (INR 110.5 crore), bought the most players (10). They are closely followed by Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals, who acquired nine players each, while Rajasthan Royals (5) and Mumbai Indians (4) bought the least number of cricketers.
Rishabh Pant became the most expensive buy in the tournament's history after being sold to Lucknow Super Giants for INR 27 crore.

Punjab Kings has the most amount of money currently after letting go of Will Jacks in the accelerated auction. RCB are next on the list, after deciding not to use the RTM option for Jacks.

Punjab Kings go in for local boy Harnoor Pannu and bag the 21-year old batter at base price.

Nuwan Thushara: Sold to RCB for 1.6 Crores
SRH and RCB are admirers of the Sri Lankan fast bowler and the Royal Challengers seemed to have bagged their target at a price of 1 Crore before RR drove the price up to 1.6 Crores.
Thushara will become the newest Sri Lankan entrant in RCB's roster.

GT bag another fast bowler. Ishant heads to Ahmedabad at base price.

Spencer Johnson: Sold to KKR for 2.8 Crores
Former GT fast bowler Spencer Johnson bagged a premium price of 10 Crores last time around but goes to KKR at a nominal price of 2.8 Crores in the IPL 2025 Auction.

Romario Shepherd: Sold to RCB for 1.5 Crores
RCB finally managed to bag a player at his base price as they signed Romario Shephered at a price of 1.5 Crores.
R Sai Kishore heads back to GT for 2 Crores (RTM)
SRH and PBKS both want R Sai Kishore to serve as the back-up spinner in their respective squads but the Kings secured yet another signing at a respectable price of 90 Lacs.
GT then exercised their RTM option, forcing the Kings to up their bid to 2 Crores and the Titans matched the price to bag their former player.
Azmatullah Omarzai: Sold to PBKS for 2.4 Crores
CSK and PBKS have a go at the former GT all-rounder escalating his price up to 2.4 Crores from a base price of 1.5 Crores.
GT then decided not to exercise their RTM option, letting the player go to Punjab Kings.
Will Jacks: Sold to MI for 5.25 Crores
MI go in for Will Jacks and are challenged by PBKS, who refrain from putting in another bid after the price reached 5.25 Crores.
RCB held the RTM option back and decided not to exercise it yet again.
Deepak Hooda: Sold to CSK for 1.7 Crores
The batting all-rounder's stocks have fallen in the last couple of years since he scored a century against Ireland.
CSK are interested in the player, though and SRH battle them for the former LSG player up to 1.7 Crores before letting him go to Chennai, as LSG didn't exercise the RTM option yet again.
Tim David: Sold to RCB for 3 Crores
SRH go straight in for the Australian finisher and RCB one-up them at every instance before bagging the player for a price of 3 Crores.

Former CSK all-rounder Moeen Ali remains unsold for now...
Shahbaz Ahmed: Sold to LSG for 2.4 Crores
Former RCB mainstay Shahbaz Ahmed gets a bid from LSG who would be looking for a replacement for Krunal Pandya but are challenged by DC.
The two North Indian franchises tried to have a bidding war but LSG seemed to have bagged their target at 1.4 Crores.
SRH then stepped in for their former player, escalating the price to 2.4 Crores before letting go of the all-rounder.
Sherfane Rutherford: Sold to GT for 2.6 Crores
A base price of 1.5 Crores proved to be a big hurdle to overcome for all the franchises except Gujarat Titans who were immediately challenged by Mumbai Indians as soon as the first bid came in.
The two sides had a go till 2.6 Crores and GT bagged the Caribbean powerhouse's signature at that price.
Manish Pandey: Sold to KKR for 75 Lacs
Karnataka skipper gets a bid of 75 Lacs from KKR and Venky Mysore bags the batter at his base price.

Aggressive opening batter Ben Duckett didn't attract any bids, remains unsold for now.

LSG sign another player as they bag Digvesh Singh at base price.

SRH once again are in the thick of action and are challenged by LSG but SRH do come back in for a second and a third bid before the Super Giants were challenged by DC.
The Super Giants eventually managed to bag his signature for 75 Lacs.
Zeeshan Ansari: Sold to SRH for 40 Lacs
SRH go in for Zeeshan Ansari, and DC one-up them but SRH's second bid of 40 Lacs bagged the signature of Zeeshan Ansari.

Former CSK fast bowler Mukesh Choudhary gets his first bid from the Super Kings and heads back to Chennai at his base price.
Gurnoor Brar heads back to GT for 1.3 Crores
CSK and GT go hard for Gurnoor Brar for the fast-bowling all-rounder and the Titans use their large purse to get their former player's signature at a price of 1.3 Crores.

Swapnil Singh: Sold to RCB for 50 Lacs (RTM)
RCB go in for Swapnil Singh after the 2024 IPL season but are challenged by DC. Surprisingly, RCB doesn't even submit a second bid as DC seemed to have signed another RCB player in Swapnil Singh.
But RCB exercised their RTM option on the all-rounder, and DC upped their bid to 50 Lacs, which was matched by RCB.

Venky Mysore has had enough of former KKR players as he showed no interest in Anukul Roy who remains unsold.
Darshan Nalkande: Sold to DC for 30 Lacs
DC bag the seam all-rounder's signature at base price of 30 Lacs.
Arshad Khan: Sold to GT for 1.3 Crores
DC go in for the Madhya Pradesh fast bowler and were challenged by PBKS and GT up to 1 Crore.
GT seemed to have sealed the deal with their bid of 1.1 Crores but a late bid from PBKS raised the price to 1.3 Crores before the Titans landed their player.
Anshul Kamboj: Sold to CSK for 3.4 Crores
DC go in for their target Anshul Kamboj and the bidding is taken over by LSG and CSK who escalate the price to 75 Lacs.
MI then came in for their former player and had a bidding war with CSK, the first one after a while, before CSK sealed the deal at a price of 3.4 Crores.
Mayank Dagar UNSOLD!!
Former RCB all-rounder Mayank Dagar didn't attract any interest from any of the sides.
Himmat Singh: Sold to LSG for 30 Lacs
The prolific Delhi batter Himmat Singh's name comes up next and LSG have taken a liking to his recent performances.
