A total of 84 players were auctioned on day one yesterday at the Abady Al-Johar Arena in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The 10 franchises splashed out INR 467.95 crore for 72 players.
IPL 2025: Updated list of players sold in the auction on day 1
Punjab Kings, who entered the auction with the biggest purse (INR 110.5 crore), bought the most players (10). They are closely followed by Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals, who acquired nine players each, while Rajasthan Royals (5) and Mumbai Indians (4) bought the least number of cricketers.
Rishabh Pant became the most expensive buy in the tournament's history after being sold to Lucknow Super Giants for INR 27 crore.

AAAND IT'S A WRAPPPP! IPL 2025 Auction unfolded over the last two days in Jeddah and owners of most franchises would walk to the Shangri-La Hotel with smiles on their faces.
PBKS went in with the highest purse and decided to splurge more than half of the allotted purse on three players, while RR went in with the lowest purse and were really shrewd about their business throughout the two days.

With RR and RCB both interested in the youngster, RR fans would have been delighted as they witnessed another exciting addition to their squad, becoming the last team to complete the minimum quota of 18 players.
