IPL 2025 auction day 2: All important updates
A total of 84 players were auctioned on day one yesterday at the Abady Al-Johar Arena in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The 10 franchises splashed out INR 467.95 crore for 72 players.

Punjab Kings, who entered the auction with the biggest purse (INR 110.5 crore), bought the most players (10). They are closely followed by Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals, who acquired nine players each, while Rajasthan Royals (5) and Mumbai Indians (4) bought the least number of cricketers.

Mumbai will head into the second day with INR 26.1 crore, the second biggest purse among franchises behind Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s INR 30.65 crore. Punjab still has INR 22.50 crore left in the kitty, the third most.

For the second day, 32 players from No. 84 and 116 will go under the hammer in five sets before the accelerated auction.
Rishabh Pant became the most expensive buy in the tournament's history after being sold to Lucknow Super Giants for INR 27 crore.
