The latest IPL mega auction is taking place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on November 24 and 25 at the Abady Al-Johar Arena. The 10 sides will look to fill the 204 slots between them from the 577 players shortlisted. Among the 204 vacancies, 70 are available for overseas players. Each team can include a maximum of 25 and a minimum of 18 players.

Going into the auction, many franchises including defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders vouched for the Right to Match options to be made available for the mega-auction.

However, the BCCI and the IPL committee decided to put a spin on the RTM option, via which the team that had put in the last bid for a player before the RTM option was exercised would be allowed to raise the amount once more.
