Glenn Maxwell has not been picked in the XI for Punjb Kings' clash against the Chennai Super Kings in today's (April 30) IPL match.
Punjab Kings won the toss and chose to field first against CSK in Chennai. This is the 10th match of the season for both sides, who have had contrasting fortunes so far. PBKS have won five out of their nine games and are currently fifth on the points table, while CSK have managed only two wins out of nine and are at the bottom of the table.

CSK vs PBKS: Maxwell unavailable for Punjab
At the toss, PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer revealed that Maxwell has not been picked for tonight's game as he is recovering from a fractured finger.
PBKS have replaced him with uncapped Indian all-rounder Suryansh Shedge, keeping the count of overseas players to three: Marco Jansen, Josh Inglis, and Azmatullah Omarzai.
A fourth overseas player, Xavier Bartlett, has been named in the Impact Players list. However, it is unlikely that he will be subbed in as PBKS are bowling first and already have at least six bowling options in their first XI.

It is neither clear as to when the injury occured nor for how long Maxwell will be out, as of now. Iyer said at the toss that they have "not decided his replacement", which could indicate that Maxwell has been ruled out of the season, though an official statement from PBKS is awaited.
