Phil Salt, Jofra Archer and Jos Buttler have all been in IPL action

After nearly three of weeks of IPL action, the competition is in full swing. Several England players have been making waves in the tournament – here's a round-up of how they've been getting on.

Of the 10 England players who were picked up in the mega-auction, only two have yet to feature in their franchise's first XI. Reece Topley is one of those, he hasn't been able to force his way into Mumbai Indians' packed bowling attack. Jacob Bethell is the other, having spent the first few weeks of the competition carrying the drinks. The rest have been in the thick of the action.

Jos Buttler

Having been released by Rajasthan Royals after seven seasons and been picked up by Gujarat Titans, Buttler has been crucial to Gujarat's current position at the top of the table. Freed up from the responsibilities of captaincy in Rajasthan, he scored a half-century in the opening game where the side were unable to chase a huge total posted by Punjab Kings. However, he was crucial in their successful chase of 170 against RCB, batting at three and finishing unbeaten on 73 off 39 balls.

Will Jacks

Jacks has played all but one of Mumbai Indians games so far, having joined the franchise from RCB this year. He has yet to make a score of note, and has played four innings scoring between 5 and 22 so far batting at three. He's also been turned to bowl the odd over with his part-time spin, and bowled Sam Curran for his only wicket in the competition so far.

Phil Salt

Salt's first game for RCB came against his old franchise KKR. He scored 56 off 31 in that game in a big opening partnership with Virat Kohli, but hasn't followed that up with big scores since. Two innings of 32 and 37 against CSK and Delhi Capitals respectively have been his best offering in his last four games.

Liam Livingstone

Livingstone, also with RCB, has made an impact with both bat and ball. He took 2-28 against CSK in RCB's second match of the season, dismissing Curran and R Ashwin in a big win, before scoring a half-century in the franchise's following match against Gujarat Titans. It was an important innings as well, RCB slipped to 42-4 before Livingstone rescued the innings coming in at No.5. He scored 54 off 40 balls before he was out, and while he got RCB up to 169, it wasn't enough to hold off GT.

Jofra Archer

Archer endured a tough start to the IPL when he bowled the most expensive spell in the tournament's history in his first match in the competition since 2023. He conceded 0-76 against Sunrisers Hyderabad, and was taken apart by Travis Head in a 23-run over. However, Archer came roaring back a couple of games later against Punjab Kings, returning figures of 3-25 off four overs. He also bowled Shubman Gill for two in his most recent outing.

Moeen Ali

Now retired from England duty, Moeen has sporadically featured for KKR over the first part of the edition. He's only been required to bat once, scoring 5 off 12 opening the batting before he was run out after being sent back by Quinton de Kock. He'd already taken 2-23 in that match, which KKR eventually won, dismissing Yashasvi Jaiswal and Nitish Rana.

Jamie Overton

Overton has played just the one match so far at the time of writing (ahead of match 27). He bowled two overs and conceded 30 runs in a six-run loss for CSK.

Sam Curran

Curran has also been a fleeting presence in CSK's side, playing two matches in the first week of the tournament. He was out in single figures in both innings he batted, and went at an economy of more than 10 with the ball in both games.
