CSK missed out on play-offs qualification in IPL 2025 by a whisker, losing their last league game against RCB. MS Dhoni has not hung up his boots yet, but at 43, it wouldn't be far fetched to imagine IPL 2025 being his last. Chennai Super Kings, under Ruturaj Gaikwad, would want to give him a fitting farewell by winning a record sixth title.

CSK Squad 2025: Who’s out?
CSK retained Ruturaj Gaikwad (18 crore), Ravindra Jadeja (18 crore), Matheesha Pathirana (13 crore), and Shivam Dube (12 crore) as their capped players while MS Dhoni (4 crore) was retained as an uncapped player. Among the players released, CSK were able to buy back some of them, sticking to their theme of keeping the same core group of players intact.

CSK Squad 2025: Who’s in?
CSK bought back Conway and Ravindra in the auction, one of whom would start alongside Gaikwad as the opener. They have also assembled a world class spin attack by roping in R Ashwin and Noor Ahmad. Sam Curran and Jamie Overton will fight for the seam-bowling all-rounder's slot, and a host of Indian seamers including but not limited to Khaleel Ahmed, Mukesh Choudhary, and Anshul Kamboj.
