Chennai Super Kings will face Kolkata Knight Riders in match No.25 of IPL 2025 - here are the Betfair odds for the CSK vs KKR game.
CSK and KKR have seven IPL titles between them, but both are in the bottom half of the table at the moment. KKR sit in sixth with two wins in five games, while CSK are in ninth, with just one win in five. The hosts have lost two on the bounce at Chepauk, and KKR are coming off the back of a narrow home loss to Lucknow Super Giants.
Can CSK avoid a fifth straight loss?
Despite playing at home, CSK start this game as underdogs, priced at 11/10 by Betfair. KKR are priced at 8/11. The biggest issue for the home side has been their lack of batting depth – too often, they have fallen behind other sides in the middle overs, even if the Powerplay and death overs may be on par. Now, they have also lost skipper and No.3 batter Ruturaj Gaikwad, with MS Dhoni set to take over as captain for the rest of the season.
KKR also arrive at a traditionally spin-friendly venue with Varun Chakaravarthy and Sunil Narine – a couple of standout slow bowlers. This is also Varun's home ground in domestic cricket. KKR's batting hasn't quite clicked consistently, but Ajinkya Rahane, Quinton de Kock and Rinku Singh have shown promising signs of late.
Which batters will steal the show?
Despite being second-favourites overall, CSK's openers are favourites to outscore their KKR counterparts, with odds of 4/6 vs 6/5 for the highest opening partnership.
Betfair's top choice for the best batter of the match is a tie between CSK's Kiwi openers Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra (priced at 3/1 each). Quinton de Kock the safest bet from KKR, at 16/5. Riskier options are Shivam Dube (CSK, 11/2) and Sunil Narine (KKR, 9/2).
