Watch: Punjab Kings’ Prabhsimran Singh smashed a stunning six over Trent Boult’s head en route to a blistering maiden IPL fifty in his team’s clash today (April 5) against Rajasthan Royals.
Prabhsimran, who had played seven games in five seasons of the IPL with a high score of 23 before the game against Rajasthan, started off cautiously, scoring 12 from his first nine deliveries before taking charge in the fourth over, hitting KM Asif for 19 runs. There was no looking back for the Punjab opener as he raced away to his maiden fifty in the league in only 28 deliveries, hitting a total of seven fours and two maximums before reaching the landmark.
He took on Boult in the ninth over of the innings, slapping the first ball that he faced for a straight six. Prabhsimran waited patiently for the shorter ball, before getting enough power and hitting a flat-batted maximum straight down Boult’s head.
