MI were in trouble when Yadav walked out to the middle having lost their first three wickets cheaply for 14 runs in the first three overs.

Yadav scored 26 runs off 22 deliveries before being bowled by Jadeja halfway through the eleventh over. CSK’s spinner fired the ball in on middle and off. Yadav gave himself room as he looked to cut away the ball.

But the set batter was beaten for pace by Jadeja and the ball crashed into the stumps and broke what was looking like a steady partnership for MI who were 69-4 as Yadav walked off the pitch.

This continued Yadav’s disappointing record against Jadeja in the IPL. This is the fourth time he has got out to Jadeja and across 11 innings, he averages 15 with the bat and strikes at a rate of 76.27. This is compared to his strike rate of 139.85 throughout his time in the tournament.

Against left-arm spinners, in general, he has been dismissed 11 times in IPL, with the strike rate standing at 107.58.

MI fought back with the bat thanks to runs from Nehal Wadhera.
