Watch: Jos Buttler was at his dominant best against Chennai Super Kings in the IPL today (April 12), smashing two consecutive sixes off his England teammate Moeen Ali, but Moeen hit back later on.

Buttler, like he has done for most of IPL 2023, got off to a good start. In the seventh over, he also became the third fastest batter to get to 3,000 IPL runs in terms of innings, only behind Chris Gayle and KL Rahul. An over later, though, he unleashed a two-six salvo against his England teammate Moeen.

Moeen was bowling his first over and had given away six runs off his first four balls. The fifth ball of the over, though, was dragged down and Buttler was waiting for it. He rocked onto the back foot and hammered it over the deep mid-wicket fence.

Buttler repeated the dose on the last ball of the over, producing an even bigger six. Moeen, perhaps under pressure to not pitch the ball up, dropped it short. Buttler hung back in his crease and walloped it, almost into the top tier over deep mid-wicket.

However, Moeen hit back later on, introduced for the 17th over and bowling Buttler with a sharp-turning delivery, which came back in to dislodge the off-stump.
