Watch: Harry Brook completed a spectacular six save on the boundary rope in the IPL today (April 29), and though he couldn’t pull off the catch, he still received applause from the batter Mitchell Marsh.

Marsh and England’s Phil Salt put on a century stand to give Delhi Capitals’ chase of 198 an excellent start. It looked as if they had added another six when Marsh smashed Mayank Markande into the leg-side, with the shot seemingly destined to clear the rope.

However, Brook timed his jump to perfection, clung onto the ball, and then flung it back into the air upon realising he was about to fall over the rope. Though he couldn’t quite get back in time to complete the catch, he had saved five runs – and with the eventual margin being a nine-run win for Sunrisers Hyderabad, it was an important contribution.

Even Marsh recognised the magnificence of the effort, applauding Brook as he completed a single.

Earlier, Brook had made a second-ball duck, his struggles with the bat in the IPL – with one notable exception – continuing.
