Watch: Arshdeep Singh produced a final over so deadly that it broke middle stump twice, as Punjab Kings fought off a Mumbai Indians charge to win at Wankhede Stadium.

Punjab Kings put 214 on the board – the most runs Mumbai Indians have ever conceded in an IPL game – courtesy of a Sam Curran half-century and some brutal late hitting from Jitesh Sharma.

Rohit Sharma, Cameron Green and Suryakumar Yadav looked to take the chase deep into the innings, scoring 44 (27), 67 (43) and 57 (26) respectively.

Tim David struck two big blows, including a 114-metre maximum, to leave MI needing 15 from the final over, before Arshdeep worked his magic.

The left-arm quick was tossed the ball at the death and produced a masterful final over, conceding just one run from the first two deliveries before slicing Tilak Varma’s middle stump in half with a full delivery.

After a brief pause as the stump was replaced, Arshdeep proceeded to break middle stump once more – Nehal Wadhera the victim this time – leaving an MI victory out of sight and Arshdeep on a hat-trick.

He ended up conceding just two runs from the final over, finishing with red-hot figures of 4-29 from his four overs, including 12 dot balls.
