Watch: Anrich Nortje delivered a trademark rocket in the Indian Premier League (IPL) today (April 4), smashing the stumps of the in-form Shubman Gill with a delivery clocked at 148.8kph (92.5mph).
The missile gave the rapid South African his second wicket of the night, and the second wicket off the first ball of an over.
With Gujarat Titans chasing 163, Delhi Capitals needed to start well. And Nortje, rated as one of the fastest bowlers in world cricket, delivered. First he bowled Wriddhiman Saha with a vicious nip-backer, and then he cleaned up Gill, one of the most prolific batters in the world in 2023 and fresh off a half-century in Gujarat Titans’ opening game, with a length ball that jagged back in to crash into the stumps.
