Watch: Ajinkya Rahane continued his remarkable resurgence in the IPL, leading the way with a blistering 29-ball 71 to take Chennai Super Kings to 235-4 against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens.

Batting at No.3, Rahane hit six fours and five sixes on his way to a shackle-free half-century, his fourth 30+ score in the tournament so far. He currently has the best strike rate in the season (199.04 – minimum 100 runs).

Against KKR, Rahane was as aggressive as he’s been, unleashing shots that have not exactly been part of his repertoire over the years. There was a reverse ramp against Kulwant Khejroliya, rarely seen from Rahane, and a lap scoop off Umesh Yadav, after reaching his fifty. The Umesh over cost KKR 22 runs, with another six and four coming off Rahane’s blade.

CSK’s final total was their third-highest in IPL history. A total of 16 sixes were hit in Chennai’s innings. Chennai Super Kings are the current favourites in the IPL betting for the 2023 title.
