CSK v PBKS and MI v RR – team news
Chennai Super Kings will play their first day game of IPL 2023, which could somewhat alter their approach and team selection so far. Ben Stokes is unlikely to feature still, while Deepak Chahar continues to be sidelined. They are likely to stick with the same XI.
Punjab Kings, meanwhile, were buoyed by the return of Shikhar Dhawan, but it didn’t help them in their chase against LSG’s record total. They could bring in some extra spin to trouble CSK’s middle order, with Harpreet Brar possibly coming in for Gurnoor Brar, who had a forgettable debut.
In the second fixture, the 1000th match of all IPL, MI will be looking to break the form of RR, currently second on the points table. With SRH’s most recent win, MI have slipped to ninth, but will fancy the comforts of their home arena to forge a tough challenge. If Jofra Archer is available, one of the overseas slots will need emptying, most likely Riley Meredith.
For RR, Trent Boult did not feature in the last game, but could make a re-entry, given his tremendous record in powerplays.

CSK: Devon Conway, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ajinkya Rahane, Moeen Ali, Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni (c & wk), Tushar Deshpande, Matheesha Pathirana, Maheesh Theekshana, Akash Singh
If batting first, CSK might add Ambati Rayudu and replace him with a bowler as an Impact Player later.
PBKS: Shikhar Dhawan (c), Atharva Taide, Liam Livingstone, Sikandar Raza, Jitesh Sharma (WK), Sam Curran, Shahrukh Khan, Harpreet Brar, Kagiso Rabada, Rahul Chahar, Arshdeep Singh

MI: Rohit Sharma (c), Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, Cameron Green, Tim David, Tilak Varma, Nehal Wadhera, Jofra Archer, Piyush Chawla, Arjun Tendulkar, Jason Behrendoff
MI have used Rohit Sharma as Impact Player in previous games, and might do the same if fielding first.

If needed, RR might add extra batting by adding Riyan Parag or Abdul Basith and switch to an extra bowler later.
CSK v PBKS and MI v RR: Match prediction
On home ground, CSK hold a clear advantage over PBKS, already reeling from conceding 257 against LSG. MI, too, have a proud record, but an in-form RR could be too strong an outfit.
