What’s new in IPL 2023?
With the 2023 season, the Tata IPL returns to a home-away format and will be played across 12 venues and 74 matches. There are also fresh innovations, including the Impact Player rule and the announcement of playing XIs after the toss.
This year, one of the biggest talking points in the lead-up had been around the media rights, split for the first time into TV rights and streaming rights.
The broadcasting rights for the 2023 to 2027 cycle were sold last June, and amounted to INR 48, 390. The TV contract will continue with Star Sports, while Viacom18 bagged the streaming rights.
The streaming giant will allow matches to be streamed in 4K quality (UltraHD). Viewers will have the option to switch between multple camera angles, and will have statistics to enhance their experience. The telecast will be provided in 12 languages.

What does the Tata IPL 2023 schedule look like?
A total of 74 matches will be played between March 31 and May 28, starting with the opening fixture between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans.
