All ten franchises announced their release lists on November 15, 2022 – here is the IPL 2023 auction purse left for each team ahead of the auction on December 23 in Kochi.

The ten IPL franchises had to submit their final list of players by November 15. Ahead of the date, several franchises traded some of their cricketers. As a result, Mumbai Indians acquired Jason Behrendorff (from Royal Challengers Bangalore), while Kolkata Knight Riders swapped Aman Khan for Shardul Thakur with Delhi Capitals, and got Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Lockie Ferguson from Gujarat Titans.
Of other released cricketers, big names include Jason Roy (Gujarat Titans); Tim Seifert (Delhi Capitals); Pat Cummins, Sam Billings, Alex Hales, Aaron Finch, and Mohammad Nabi (Kolkata Knight Riders); Jimmy Neesham (Rajasthan Royals); Mayank Agarwal and Odean Smith (Punjab Kings); Sherfane Rutherford (Royal Challengers Bangalore); Dwayne Bravo, Chris Jordan, and Adam Milne (Chennai Super Kings); Jason Holder, Andrew Tye, and Manish Pandey (Lucknow Super Giants); Kieron Pollard, Tymal Mills, Fabien Allen, and Jaydev Unadkat (Mumbai Indians); and Kane Williamson and Nicholas Pooran (Sunrisers Hyderabad).
Of them, Williamson and Agarwal led their respective franchises in the previous seasons, while Pollard will stay on with the Mumbai Indians as batting coach.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (INR 42.25 crore) will now go into the auction with the largest purse of them all, while Kolkata Knight Riders (INR 7.05 crore) will have the smallest budget.
