Before joining Sunrisers Hyderabad, the India wicketkeeper plied his trade at Kings XI Punjab, and it was for them that he nearly delivered an IPL title.
In the 2014 final, Kings XI batted first but were restricted to 58-2 at the halfway stage of their innings. It was Saha who wrestled momentum back in his side’s favour though, launching himself from 15 off 16 balls to 115 off just 55.
And yet it was KKR who won out in the end, chasing 200 to win the title. Manish Pandey, now Saha’s teammate at the IPL, was the star of the show, smashing 94 off just 50 deliveries.
Saha’s century remains his highest score in the IPL, though he did make headlines in 2018 when he blitzed his way to a 20-ball 102 for Mohun Bhagan in a JC Mukherjee Trophy match ahead of that year’s IPL.
