Du Plessis has been in fine nick with the bat in the ongoing IPL edition and is currently at the top of the run-getters list with three fifties in the tournament. Along with his batting impact, though, du Plessis has been a lively presence on the field, pulling off stunning saves game after game, and continued the trend in CSK’s seven-wicket win over SRH.
With SRH looking to step up the run-rate at the death, Manish Pandey swatted a full-toss towards cow corner in the 17th over. Du Plessis scampered from his position at widish long and dived full length, stopping the ball with a stunning one-handed save along the ropes.
Next over, Pandey tried to clear the field once again and got better elevation, but du Plessis, manning the same area, didn’t let the ball pass him. This time using two hands, he pouched the ball while diving full stretch, sliding right next to the fence to complete an incredible catch.
Du Plessis took the joint-most number of catches in IPL 2020, finishing with 12 of them in 13 matches, with three from a single game alone.
