KKR were down and out at 31-5 in a 221-run chase, but Andre Russell and Cummins staged a phenomenal comeback to take them close to the target. Cummins was particularly exceptional, registering 66 runs off just 34 balls.
While Russell was dismissed in the 12th over, Cummins kept fighting on and remained unbeaten even as KKR were bowled out for 202. In post-match footage from the KKR dressing room, a crestfallen Cummins rued his underwhelming bowling performance on the day – 0-58 in four overs.
“That was close. Let in too many runs with the ball. One good over with the ball and we would’ve… Anyway, that’s cricket,” said Cummins in the video.
