The nutmeg is still gaining popularity in cricket even if Natalie Sciver did her bit to turn the shot layed between two legs to a Natmeg. Pollard did his bit in the high-scoring thriller on Saturday to give it more popularity.
Lungi Ngidi was up against it as he looked to defend 15 runs off the final over. A well-set Pollard is hard to subdue, but the South African started the over well, bowling a dot ball as Pollard found the deep fielder and chose not to run.
Ngidi’s joy was shortlived even though he nailed a near-perfect yorker. Pollard, squeezed for room, turned the bat in his hand and sent the ball between his legs and racing to the square leg fence. It set the ball rolling for what was a sensational final over for Mumbai.
