A key contributor to the KKR bowling effort was Russell, who finished with figures of 3-9 from three overs and claimed the prized wicket of former South Africa batsman de Villiers.
The 37-year-old walked out to bat with his side 52-3 in the ninth over, but was on his way back just moments later as Russell bowled a full-length delivery that honed in on de Villiers’ left foot before rattling the stumps.
