Chasing 206 to win, Chennai looked down and out with two overs left to go and 43 runs still required. Up stepped Albie Morkel.
The man at the other end, entrusted with bowling the penultimate over, was none other than Kohli, who had earlier hit a 46-ball 57 for his side.
But it was to be Morkel’s day, as he launched a staggering assault on Kohli. After an inside edge trickled away for four from the first ball, Morkel pumped Kohli over long-off for six the next ball. Eighteen more runs followed in the over, as Morkel reduced the target to 15 required from the final set of six.
Morkel departed from the first ball he faced in the next over but Dwayne Bravo and Ravindra Jadeja were on hand to finish the job, aided by a Vinay Kumar waist-high full toss that was deposited for four by Bravo.
