A Twitter glitch that is making RCB’s IPL emoji appear as CSK’s yellow jersey has left fans amused, triggering a meme-fest on social media.

Last year, Twitter launched emojis and hashtags for all IPL teams, a feature that restarted this week ahead of the 2021 season.
However, a technical glitch has left the RCB franchise and its fans red-faced, with the CSK yellow jersey appearing next to their hashtags, instead of the red-and-gold hue of the Bangalore-based side.
It wasn’t long before the mistake was realised, kickstarting a spate of memes on social media, especially between the followers of the two teams who’ve had a long history of cricketing rivalry.
The teams’ social media handles, too, joined in the fun – RCB tweeted: “Hey
@Twitter, @TwitterIndia, looks like you need better tech engineers. Bengaluru is the right place to start hiring. #WhatsWithYourEmojis”, while Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals, too, brought out their humour as well.

Unsurprisingly, some of the memes revolved around RCB’s trophy-less run in IPL so far.

RCB fans, too, turned it around, taking a dig at CSK’s controversial past that saw them suspended for two seasons.
Hey @Twitter @TwitterIndia please FIX the emoji glitch asap, if needed take help from @ChennaiIPL. They are good at fixing.

Twitter hashtag #PlayBold comes with CSK jersey because the tagline suits them more than RCB.
