It’s a good time to be a fan of Royal Challengers Bangalore, a team that has struggled in recent years, but seems to be on a mission to do well in IPL 2020. A key reason behind their success has been the impressive form of Yuzvendra Chahal, who can now count Yuvraj Singh among his admirers.
Yuvraj, who retired from all forms of cricket last year but confirmed plans to return to first-class cricket recently, seems mightily impressed by Chahal’s performances this season.
Chahal put a picture of the RCB team after their win against Kolkata Knight Riders, with the caption: “No one can whistle a symphony. It takes a whole orchestra to play it. Great team effort tonight.”
Known for his six-hitting prowess, Yuvraj responded to it. Hailing Chahal for his Player of the Match performance, he said: “Tu kisi ko nahi marne de raha ! Lagta hai maidan par vapas aana padega (You’re not letting any batsman hit you. Looks like I’ll have to return to the field)! Great spell Yuzi top class.
I still remember 3 balls 3 sixes bhaiya 🙈🙈

The tweet attracted a lot of attention from Yuvraj’s fans, who last saw the all-rounder in IPL in 2019, when he featured in four games for Mumbai Indians. The thought of Yuvraj facing spinners in Sharjah, which has consistently witnessed high-scoring games due on its notoriously short boundary lines, was a delectable one for the fans.
Yuvi paaji against a leg spinner at Sharjah. This is what fans want. Better people get their car insurance done if they want to ride along the highway.

Chahal, whose figures of 1-12 were key in RCB notching up their fifth win in seven games, was humble in response, tweeting: “I still remember 3 balls 3 sixes bhaiya (brother)”.
The tweet referred to Yuvraj’s triple strike from last season, when he rolled back the years against Chahal, thumping him for three sixes off three balls. It was Chahal who had the last laugh though, employing the googly to account for Yuvraj’s wicket off the very next ball. The left-hander tried to make it four sixes in a row but ended up getting caught on the boundary line.
It’s unlikely to ever materalise, but a Yuvraj-Chahal duel would indeed be a treat to watch for fans in IPL.
