Poonam Yadav, the India Women legspinner, would love to represent the IPL side Chennai Super Kings (CSK) if given a chance to play in a women’s Indian Premier League.
Replying to a question from a fan on Twitter, Poonam said: “Given a chance, would love to roll my arm over for Chennai Super Kings”.

CSK, for their part, would be happy to welcome the 28-year-old to their family. “Lionesses are the real hunters!” they wrote on Twitter, in reply to Poonam. “Vaa vaa Manjal malarey!” (come, come, yellow flower).
Poonam was India’s highest wicket-taker, and second overall, behind Australia’s Megan Schutt in the recently-concluded Women’s T20 World Cup in Australia, with 10 wickets, including a four-wicket haul against Australia in the tournament opener.

The Women’s T20 challenge, which was scheduled to run alongside the knockouts of the men’s IPL, had a total of seven matches scheduled to take place at Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Stadium, with four teams competing for the title.
The tournament was first introduced in 2018, featuring a one-off match between Supernovas and Trailblazers in Mumbai, before a third team, Velocity, was added to the fray last year.
