Pat Cummins was the big winner of the day. He became the most expensive overseas player in IPL auction history after being purchased by Kolkata Knight Riders for INR 15.5 crore. In what was a good day overall for Australians, Glenn Maxwell was the second-costliest buy, going to Kings XI Punjab for INR 10.75 crore.
Royal Challengers Bangalore missed out on Cummins, but signed South African all-rounder Chris Morris for INR 10 crore, while Chennai Super Kings snapped up England all-rounder Sam Curran for INR 5.5 crore. England’s World Cup-winning captain Eoin Morgan, meanwhile, ended up at Kolkata Knight Riders for INR 5.25 crore.
