BCCI have announced the 2020 IPL schedule, which starts on September 19 with defending champions Mumbai Indians taking on Chennai Super Kings in the season opener in Abu Dhabi.
Delhi Capitals will take on Kings XI Punjab in the second match of the season on Sunday, September 20 in Dubai before Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad clash in a repeat of the 2016 IPL final on Monday, September 21.
The inaugural IPL winner Rajasthan Royals will start their campaign on September 22 when they face CSK in Sharjah while Kolkata Knight Riders will start their quest for a third IPL title against MI on September 23.
All in all, there will be 10 double-header days in the league stage. The afternoon games have been scheduled to start at 3.30pm IST while the evening matches will start at 7.30pm IST.
The Dubai International Cricket Stadium will host the most number of round-robin matches – 24, followed by the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi which will host 20 and Sharjah Cricket Stadium will host 12.
The dates and venues for the playoffs and the final are yet to be announced.
