Sky have confirmed on Twitter that they will not be showing IPL 2019 on their Sky Sports Cricket channel.

In an announcement in March 2018, Sky revealed that they had signed a “multi-year” deal to broadcast 60 live IPL matches each year.

Although there is yet to be a formal release, Sky have told fans on Twitter that they will not be showing this year’s tournament. A tweet from Sky Help Team stated: “It has been confirmed that Star India will make use of the rights themselves this year so Sky will not be covering IPL in 2019 on Sky Sports Cricket unfortunately.”

Late last night, Hotstar announced that they had won the exclusive digital streaming rights to broadcast the competition in the UK. A subscription for Hotstar costs £11.99 a month. When contacted, Star TV would not confirm either way whether or not the IPL would be shown on their channel in the UK.
